Research



The research within the LPTENS is divided into two teams:

. Group A includes researchers working on different aspects of high energy particle physics and gravity, trying to unify the four fundamental interactions of nature, mainly in the framework of string theory. Prominent topics of research are physics beyond the Standard Model, String-M theory, holographic correspondence, integrable models, conforma field theory.

. Group B centres his activity on statistical physics; historically at LPT-ENS this has been related to the study of disordered systems whose physical properties are strongly influenced by the presence of inhomogeneous interactions. Beyond this, the group also studies a large variety of questions, ranging from abstract mathematical physics to applications in condensed matter, biology or information science.
