Philippe Meyer Institute for Theoretical Physics

Philippe Meyer Institute for Theoretical Physics was founded in the Physics Department of Ecole normale supérieure. Its goal is to promote research in Theoretical Physics and participate in the training of young theorists. The Institute organizes conferences, proceeds to international scientific exchanges and establishes postdoctoral research positions. This Institute is financed by a Partnership Foundation established jointly by the Foundation Meyer and Ecole normale supérieure.

The Fondation Meyer and Ecole normale supérieure so pay tribute to Professor Philippe Meyer and join to lead a long-term action both research and education in Theoretical Physics. This partnership has for vocation to support the activities of Philippe Meyer Institute for Theoretical Physics. Its goal is to promote the Institute and to insure its international outreach.

To achieve this, the Foundation has a first-rate Scientific Council whose members are:

. M. Curtis CALLAN, Theoretical Physics of the High Energies, Biophysics, University of Princeton, Foreign Partner Academy of Science
· M. Gerard ’ t HOOFT, Theoretical Physics of the High Energies, Gravitation, University of Utrecht, Foreign Partner Academy of Sciences, Nobel Prize in Physics
· M. Thierry GIAMARCHI, Physics of the Condensed Matter, University of Geneva
· M. Giorgio PARISI, Theoretical Physics of the High Energies, Statistical Mechanics, University of Rome 1, Foreign Partner Academy of Sciences
· M. Gabriele VENEZIANO, Theoretical Physics of the High Energies, Astrophysics and Cosmology, the CERN and the Collège de France, Foreign Partner Academy of Sciences
